The device (2) has a gluing roller (4) for gluing during stopping a product, where the roller is moved under a block back through a forward stroke and a return stroke. The roller runs below the roller back with a small distance during the forward stroke and with a larger distance during the return stroke such that distance change is produced by mechanical units e.g. gear wheel (10), intermediate gear (11), gear rod (12) and pneumatic cylinder (13), or pneumatic unit. The mechanical units lift and lower a housing (3) on adjustable mass.
