The surgical endoscopic optics (1) has an elongated shaft pipe (2) and a main body with a housing (3). An objective (5) looking outside through a window (4) is arranged in the distal end area of the shaft pipe. The housing is arranged on the proximal end of the shaft pipe. An electrical switching device (14) is arranged on the outer side of the main body, which is electrically connected with a circuit (20) arranged in the interior of the main body.
