The device (06) has a cleaning material i.e. web-shaped or arc-shaped paper (07), directly contacting a roller i.e. application roller (03), of an inking system for cleaning. Shifting direction and shifting speed of the paper are same as shifting direction and shifting speed of a surface of the roller placed in an area in which the paper stays in contact with the surface of the roller to be cleaned. An accumulator (08) contains the clean rolled paper. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a roller of an inking system.
