The method involves transmitting optical or electromagnetic radiation to a fluid (12) or an optical sensor (16) arranged in the fluid by a mobile measuring device (18) through a window (22). The window is arranged in a wall of a cable (14) and is permeable to the optical or electromagnetic radiation. The optical or electromagnetic radiation is received by the mobile measuring device, where the radiation is emitted and/or reflected from the fluid or the sensor based on dissolved concentration of a substance. The sensor is activated by measuring probe (26) of the measuring device. An independent claim is also included for a measuring arrangement for determining a dissolved concentration of a substance such as gas content in a fluid e.g. liquid and gas, comprising a measuring device.
