The suspension device comprises a fork rake (3) fastened to a fork carriage (2). The illuminating device is attached in a region of the fork rake, and movable against the suspension device. The illuminating device comprises a LED lamp, and a light band is arranged at the suspension device in the region of the fork rake. An independent claim is also included for a method for illuminating a load suspension region of a vertically movable load suspension device.
