The mechanism has a switching lever (10) switching-on and switching-off of a contact unit (3) of a switch (2). A latch designed as stamping part and/or bending part has a pin, and an unlocking device (60) unlocks another switching lever. The latch has a retaining bracket that pivotably encompasses a clamp bolt during connection of the pin with the latter lever for fixing the former lever in a switching-off and re-clamping position. An unclipping lock of the latch is pivotable with the latch, such that the unlocking of the unclipping lock is limited. An independent claim is also included for a switch comprising a rotating contact system and a contact unit.
