The transport device (11) has a workpiece carrier (12) including a clamping device (21) for transporting and for processing of a workpiece (19). An attachment device (14) is attached to a transporting element (18) passing through the processing machine. The workpiece carrier is pivotably arranged at the attachment device around an axis by a pivotable support. The workpiece carrier has a control element (31) e.g. cam disk, for controlling rotary movement of the workpiece carrier between processing stations. A locking device is provided between the workpiece carrier and the attachment device.
