The motor vehicle (1) has a solar device (3) for covering a roof section of the vehicle and comprising two solar elements (5a-5d) that are designed in a trapezoid-shape. The solar elements are adjustable from a bearing position in which the solar elements form a body shell of a vehicle roof (2) to an opened position (7) in which solar-active surfaces are arranged in a solar-energy receiving position. The solar-active surfaces are arranged on an inner surface of the solar elements, where edge sections of the solar elements are arranged adjacent to each other.
