The method involves forming a secondary plate (101), such that the secondary plate assumes a U-shape with a web and two vertically extending arms. A side (103) of the secondary plate forms a U-shaped inner side. Individual magnets (102) are arranged in two rows on the side of the secondary plate before, during or after the forming process. An independent claim is also included for a linear motor.
