The foil (6) has narrow sides and broad sides limited by edges, and a stair step-like contour formed in edge proximity to the foil, where the foil is formed in rectangular shape. The contour comprises ten steps that are parallelly guided to the edges. The steps asymmetrically extend from one of the broadsides to the other broadside. The steps are formed in arc-shaped, wavy or jagged manner, where the foil is made of molybdenum or tantalum. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electrical lamp comprising a sealing (2) a method for manufacturing a foil.
