The method involves extending a filter tube (10) from the outside surface to the inner surface of a support cage of a dust-charged gas filter. An integrated nonwoven filter medium made of polymer fiber and comprising integrated paper webs is provided in the filter, where the filter medium has air-permeability of about 30 to 500 L/square dm per minute. A particulate layer settled on the outer surface of the filter medium is removed by applying compressed air with pressure of about 0.3 to 7 bar on an open side of the filter tube for a time period less than 200 milliseconds. The filter medium has a polymer or inorganic micro-fiber portion with yarn count less than 1.5 decitex and with 10 mass percent of the mass provided between a raw gas side and support webs arranged on the filter medium, where the time period between subsequent application of pressure is less than 150 s.
