Controller monitoring method for internal combustion engine of motor vehicle, involves controlling controller of engine by transient control parameter in transient operating mode and by control parameter in stationary operating mode
The method involves determining a characteristics diagram of a controller (21) of an internal combustion engine (1). A transient control parameter is determined for a support point of the diagram by a trade-off model and optimized by the model relative to exhaust gas relevant output parameters of the engine. The point is corrected using the transient control parameter, where the controller is controlled by the transient control parameter using the diagram in a transient operating mode and by a control parameter in a stationary operating mode. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising a controller for executing a controller monitoring method.
