The method involves detecting (S10) a curve progress by peripheral sensor of a vehicle, comparing (S12) the detected curve progress with a digital card information based curve progress, and producing a curve verification signal. A curve warning signal is produced and outputted (S14) depending on the curve verification signal. An independent claim is included for a device for foresighted warning of curves.
