Cosmetic agent in the form a multi-component packaging unit (kit-of-parts), comprises: a cosmetic composition (A) in a first container containing at least one peroxidase of the enzyme class with the enzyme commission number (1.11.1.x) for skin lightening, where x is 1-3 to 5-16, and at least a substrate for a hydrogen peroxide producing enzyme, which is present in a second container; and a cosmetic composition (B) in the second container containing at least one hydrogen peroxide producing enzyme for skin lightening and optionally at least a substrate for the peroxidase in the first container. An independent claim is also included for a non-therapeutic, cosmetic method for lightening the skin and/or age spots or freckles, comprising: mixing the composition (A) and (b); and applying the resulting mixture on the skin.
