The cooling system has an instrument which has one or multiple separate cooling circuits for cooling a mold cavity of the instrument of the injection molding machine. The cooling circuits are fluidically connected by a central switch unit (1) with two separate supply circuits of different temperature levels. The switch unit connects one of the separate supply circuits with the cooling circuits and turns off the other supply circuit.
