The invention proposes a switchable bucket tappet (1), having a housing (3), in the bore (8) of which an inner part (9) extends axially movably relative to said bore, wherein two coupling pistons (12) preferably equipped with flattened portions are disposed in a bore (11) of the inner part (9), wherein said pistons can be placed in engagement, in sections, with a respective crescent-like driver surface (13) in the bore (8) of the housing (3) in order to obtain a full valve lift.
