A method for detecting urothelial cancer comprising determining the expression of CXCL1 protein or a gene encoding the protein in a biological sample from a subject in vitro; and a kit for diagnosis of urothelial cancer comprising an antibody or nucleic acid probe capable of binding specifically to the protein or gene.
