The method involves measuring temperature and hygrometry in an enclosure and neutralizing electrostatic charges at a surface of a plastic piece (5). Electric potential is measured in measurement point at the surface and compared with a threshold value. The piece is subjected to an intense electric field (E) when the potential is less than the value. Another potential is measured in the point and compared with another value. Third potential is measured in the point and is displayed. The piece is considered to have defect when the third potential is greater than third threshold value : An independent claim is also included for a control installation for determining a capacity of a plastic piece doped with antistatic agent, to dissipate electrostatic charge in ambient air.
