The method involves storing a rush comprising high resolution images contained in a digital file, in a permanent manner in an audiovisual consultation sequence in a safeguard sub-system by creating another digital file containing low resolution images, so as to correspond each low resolution image to each of the high resolution images. The latter file is transmitted to a request emitter after reception of a request on the sequence. Third file is created to contain the high resolution images from the rush and an edition decision list after receiving the list. An independent claim is also included for a system for producing audiovisual works, comprising a safeguard sub-system.
