Packetized multimedia stream i.e. video data, transporting and routing method for internet, involves receiving and duplicating multimedia streams, and simultaneously transmitting streams towards destinations through packet-switched networks

The method involves receiving input packetized multimedia streams i.e. video data, from sources, and duplicating the multimedia streams, irrespective of its format. The multimedia streams are simultaneously transmitted towards destinations through packet-switched networks or by packet switching type telecommunication access links under the form of multimedia signals, where the number of the streams is different for each signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an equipment for transporting and routing packetized multimedia streams from sources to destinations in real time (2) a system for transporting and routing packetized multimedia streams from sources to destinations in real time.
