The system has a frontal device (100) including an upper element partially submerged and resting on supporting pylons (150) secured to a seabed. The frontal device is arranged to divide incident swell into a lower portion and an upper portion located respectively below and above the upper element. The device includes an attenuation unit to reduce energy of the lower portion of the swell. An additional device (200) is fitted between a sea shore and the frontal device, and has another attenuation unit to reduce energy of residual swell caused from the frontal device.
