The device (1) has an elongated light guide (3) whose ends (5, 7) are arranged opposite to one another. A light emitting element (9) i.e. blue LED, emits blue color light in the light guide from one of the ends with intensity. Another light emitting element (11) i.e. red LED, emits red color light in the light guide from the other end with other intensity. A control unit (15) varies the intensities of the lights emitted by the emitting elements based on a variable value of a parameter. The emitting elements are respectively arranged at the ends of the light guide.
