The method involves monitoring appearance of failure of a unit e.g. steering actuator, of a captive maintained aerodyne (10). A parachute is deployed during the detection of the failure of the unit. The aerodyne is connected to a launching and receiving device by exerting traction on a link or a cable (12). Position of suspenders of the parachute is controlled during a connection operation so as to follow a determined path at the aerodyne connected to the parachute. An independent claim is also included for an aerodyne comprising a lift propeller.
