A stationary exercise machine includes a display screen for displaying scenery through which the user's travel may be simulated depending on the user's input on the exercise machine. The exercise machine may be a bicycle, treadmill or rowing machine. The apparatus may use both audio and visual output to help motivate a user to exercise harder and longer.
