PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radius-of-curvature calculating device, a method of calculating a radius of curvature, and a radius-of-curvature calculation program for improving calculation precision of a radius of curvature even if each shape interpolation point is not set to a position coinciding with an actual road shape.;SOLUTION: The radius-of-curvature calculating device 50 includes: a map information DB 52a; a shape interpolation point information acquisition unit 51a for acquiring shape interpolation point information; a corner section detection unit 51b for detecting a corner section of which a radius of curvature is calculated; a reference distance setting unit 51c for setting reference distance, based on distance between shape interpolation points; a tentative radius-of-curvature calculation unit 51d for calculating a tentative radius of curvature in the corner section; a correction coefficient identification unit 51e for identifying a correction coefficient based on a road type and a tentative radius of curvature of the corner section; a shape interpolation point extraction unit 51f for extracting shape interpolation points of three points based on the correction coefficient and the reference distance; and a radius-of-curvature calculation unit 51g for calculating a radius of curvature of the corner section based on the shape interpolation points of the three points.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
