PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission waveform generation method in pulse compression having little S/N loss, capable of further lowering a side-lobe level.;SOLUTION: If the waveform of Fourier transformed pulse compression waveform, wherein a range side lobe becomes a desired level is defined as P(f), and that the waveform of a power spectrum density of a linear chirp wave is defined as P'(f); a nonlinear chirp waveform whose chirp rate c(t) is proportional to P'(f(t))/P(f(t)) is calculated based on a linear chirp waveform and is then multiplied by a window function w(t) for suppressing rise and fall of the waveform. Furthermore, the waveform is subjected to Fourier expansion, corrected so that its amplitude spectrum agrees with an amplitude spectrum of the waveform P(f), and is then subjected to inverse-Fourier transformation so as to acquire the transmission waveform.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
