PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a take over of an access control of a type-B protected passive optical network.;SOLUTION: The method for preparing a take over of an access control of a type-B protected passive optical network includes the steps of: sending from a currently working optical line termination to a protection optical line termination a signaling message, containing updated ranging information of all optical network units, relative to the currently working optical line termination after connection of new optical network unit, removal of a connected optical network unit or any change of ranging information comparatively to ranging information exchanged, previously; and determining (158) the updated ranging information of all the optical network units relative to the protection optical line termination from the updated ranging information of all the optical network unit relative to the currently working optical line termination and from the ranging information of a predetermined optical network unit relative to the protection optical line termination.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
