PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll-like reflection type polarizing element having excellent adhesiveness to a polarizer, suitable for mass-production, capable of decreasing members, improving luminance when being integrated with a polarizing plate and enlarging the view angle of a liquid crystal panel by the combination with an optical retardation film, and to provide a roll-like reflection type polarizing element, a roll-like reflection absorption integration type polarizing element, a roll-like view angle enlarging reflection absorption integration type polarizing element, a roll-like phase difference compensation reflection absorption integration type polarizing element, a method of manufacturing them and a liquid crystal display device using them.;SOLUTION: The roll-like reflection type polarizing element has a reflection type polarizing separation layer containing nanowires. When the average minor axis diameter of the nanowire is X nm, the average distance between nanowires is Z nm, X and Z satisfy the following conditions and 90% of the nanowire has an angle of 010 between the nanowire in the major axis direction and the nanowire in the roll longitudinal direction.
