PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for distorting a liquid crystal molecular field, and for using various physical fluctuations obtained from a strain generation phenomenon, and an application device using the mechanism.;SOLUTION: This mechanism for generating a liquid crystal molecular field strain by a flow of a liquid crystal comprises the first member having the first orientation face orientated in a liquid crystal, the second member having constraining force to liquid crystal orientation of strength different from the first orientation face on a face opposed to the first orientation face, and the liquid crystal sealed in a space formed between the first orientation face and the second orientation face.
