PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device enabling the performance of measuring the amount of young shellfish automatically, accurately and in a good efficiency, and distributing them to baskets for growing. PSOLUTION: The method for measuring and distributing young shellfish is characterized by moving young shellfish from a young shellfish-supplying part to a young shellfish-piled part together with water, moving at least a part of the piled young shellfish at the young shellfish-piled part into a plurality of conveying containers to distribute as a plurality of first groups of the young shellfish, conveying the distributed plurality of the first groups of the young shellfish to a putting-in part for a weight-measuring container by using the plurality of conveying containers, transferring the plurality of the first groups of the young shellfish conveyed to the putting-in part into the inside of weight-measuring container together with water to distribute them to a plurality of second groups of the young shellfish each consisting of a predetermined amount, and then discharging the second groups of the young shellfish from the weight-measuring containers to the containers for growing together with water.
