To provide a motherese assonance conversion system capable of obtaining the sound resembling the motherese which can arouse the concern of an infant by converting another speech or speech signals inputted to the system and a motherese assonance conversion method. SOLUTION: This system has input means 11 for the speech or the speech signal and fundamental tone converting means 30 for converting the inputted speech or speech signal to the fundamental tones having a prescribed fundamental frequency and the harmonic tone structure thereof and change tone forming means 40 for forming change tones by imparting an intonation change of a specified range to the fundamental tones having the respective harmonic tone structure. The system is constituted to form the motherese assonance by converting the inputted speech or speech signal.
