PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely detect a small lumped substance and perform a sensitive and precise detection.;SOLUTION: In this lumped substance detecting method for detecting a lumped substance 20 within a mixed phase vessel 1 in which a mixed phase of a gas and a powder is formed and fluidized, a protective pipe 51 having one end fixed to the mixed phase vessel 1 and the other free end is arranged within the mixed phase vessel 1, and a detection bar 60 is inserted to the free end of the protective pipe 51 and partially fixed. A permanent magnet 61 is mounted on the other end of the detection bar 60 to arrange the permanent magnet 61 in an uniform magnetic flux, the permanent magnet 61 is moved with one point F1 of the detection bar 60 as a fulcrum, and the change of the magnetic flux according to the movement of the permanent magnet 61 is measured to detect the presence of the lumped substance 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
