A zip closure system comprises a first zip slider 44 with a rotatably mounted handle 45 and a second zip slider 40 or the end of a zip closure with a rotatably mounted handle 43. The zip sliders 40, 41 can fasten or unfasten the teeth of a zip closure. The handles 45, 46 are configured so that when the first slider 41 is adjacent to the second slider 40 or the end of the zip closure, the positions of the handles 45, 46 with respect to the slider or end of zip closure on which they are mounted can be interchanged, with the first handle 45 overlying the second slider 40 or end of zip closure and the second handle 46 overlying the first slider 41.
