The invention relates to a method for purifying biogas from a biogas installation, and a gas purification system, by which means hydrogen sulphide (HSUB2/SUBS) and ammonia (NHSUB3/SUB) are at least partially removed from the unpurified biogas. According to the invention, hydrogen peroxide (HSUB2/SUBOSUB2/SUB) is supplied to the biogas during a hydrogen sulphide purification step (K02), and the sulphuric acid (HSUB2/SUBSOSUB4/SUB) formed during the hydrogen sulphide purification step (K02) by the reaction of hydrogen peroxide (HSUB2/SUBOSUB2/SUB) and hydrogen sulphide (HSUB2/SUBS) is added in an ammonia purification step (K01) during which ammonium sulfate is formed by the reaction of ammonia (NHSUB3/SUB) with sulphuric acid (HSUB2/SUBSOSUB4/SUB).
