The invention relates to a device for testing the resistance and endurance of surfaces of various materials to intense laser radiation. According to the invention, the device consists of a power laser (1) for irradiating a test piece, a variolosser (2) meant to adjust the laser beam, a beam divider (3) intended to extract a fraction to be monitored from the laser beam and, on the other hand, to take over the image of the irradiated zone from a microscope lens (5), the same lens (5) being used to focus the laser beam on the test piece, the image being then oriented to a video camera (9) connected to a computer (10), for viewing the irradiated zone in real time on the display thereof. The device also comprises a test piece gripping device (6), a test piece lighting device (7) and an optical adapter (8) to form the image taken over from the lens (5).
