According to one aspect of the invention, there is provided 6 , 9 -Difluoro-17 -[(2-furanylcarbonyl)oxy]-11 -hydroxy-16 -methyl-3-oxo-androsta-1,4-diene-17 -carbothioic acid S-fluoromethyl ester of formula (I) and solvates thereof. There are also provided compositions containing the compound, processes for preparing it, and its use in veterinary and human therapy for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic conditions and the intermediates for thereof production.
