A synchronous machine excitation system comprises two exciters with excitation windings and armature windings, a rectifier and an automatic excitation voltage regulator, wherein inputs of exciter excitation windings are connected to the automatic excitation voltage regulator. Armature windings are in series connected, outputs being connected to rectifier input. Rectifier output is connected to leads of an excitation winding of the main synchronous machine. Both exciters are asynchronous machines with a phase-wound rotor and with different quantity of poles pairs, excitation windings of which are connected to the automatic excitation voltage regulator with opposite phase interlacing.
