METHOD FOR PROPHYLAXIS OF SETTLING GRAIN STORAGES WITH LEPIDOPTEROUS PESTS

A method for prophylaxis of attack of grain storages with lepidopterous pests includes long-term negative effect on pest population. Directed settling of the ectoparasite Habrobracon (Habrobracon hebetor Say.) into grain storages is carried out, in 12-15 days after loading the grain. The parasite is settled at the imago stage, in doing so settling is carried out at the surface of the grain, at least in 7-11 points, in an equivalent of 15-17 imagos per 10 mof the grain surface. 25-30 % of the biomaterial (Habrobracon) are settled into the upper layer of the grain for a depth of 12-14 cm in an equivalent of 8-10 imagos per 5 mof grain area of the grain. The following 2-3 settlings of the parasite is carried out with an interval of 12-14 days. A laboratory culture of Habrobracon of the first quality class only is used for settling.
