Disclosed is an pest insect control method for effectively and relatively safely dispersing a chemical solution containing an insecticide to a space to be treated. The method includes an initial process in which the insecticide-containing chemical solution is continuously sprayed, followed by a process in which the chemical solution is sprayed intermittently. The insecticide is, for example, metofluthrin. This method allows the chemical solution to be dispersed effectively and with relative safety to people and animals other than pest insects.
