METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ELIMINATING PARAFFIN AND HYDRATE PLUGS IN OIL AND GAS WELLS

The invention relates to the oil industry and can be used for eliminating paraffin and hydrate plugs in oil and gas wells. A method for eliminating plugs includes lowering a linear, load-bearing, heating cable into the space inside a tubing string, heating the cable to a maximum possible working temperature, and automatically maintaining a controlled temperature. The maximum working temperature of the cable is maintained inside the well using a cable heating control system, while the temperature at the end of the heating cable and the average heating temperature of the cable are monitored. A device for implementing this method includes equipment for feeding a heating cable into a well, heating the cable uniformly, and providing automatic thermal protection against short circuiting, as well as programmed protection with respect to temperature, voltage, heating current and the insulation resistance of the cable. The invention provides for a reduction in manufacturing cost and an increase in the efficiency with which plugs are eliminated, and ensures the safety of the operations being performed.
