A method and system for realizing trans-province transmission of multimedia messages over an industry application platform are disclosed in the present invention. According to the present invention, by respectively arranging a Multimedia Message Service-Agent as a Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) and an Enterprise Customer (EC)/Service Integrator (SI), one IP address is assigned to different entities, so that the dual identity of a headquarter and a province industry application platform Multimedia Messaging Service-Agent (MMS-A), i.e., MMSC AND EC/SI, are achieved in the process of trans-province transmission of multimedia messages, and then the trans-province forwarding of multimedia messages over an industry application platform is achieved. According to the present invention, it is possible to simplify the router query and authentication of a message in the trans-province process, and to provide service for provinces without building the MMS-A.
