Disclosed is a photographic location recommendation device that allows a photographer to photograph a subject from a recommended photography location without incurring costs connected with building databases. The photographic location recommendation device comprises a photographic location information extraction means for extracting past photographic location information that denotes photographic locations where a subject has been photographed, either from a plurality of past image data wherein the subject has been photographed in the past, or from metadata attached to the past image data, which are stored in an image memory means; a photographic location distribution computation means for computing the photographic location distribution, which is the distribution of locations where the subject has been photographed on the basis of the past photographic location information, on the basis of the past photographic location information; and a photographic location determination means for determining candidates for recommended photographic locations that are recommended as photographic locations for the subject, on the basis of the photographic location distribution that the photographic location distribution computation means has computed.
