The disclosed ghost detection device is provided with two imaging optical systems, and by means of varying between the two systems at least one of angle, resolution and manufacturing variation adjustment method, even if images are taken under the same imaging conditions, a difference can be created in the circumstances which result in ghosts. In step (S1), images are read in; in step (S2), the positions corresponding to each part of the imaged body are found; and in step (S3), the images at said corresponding positions are compared to each other, and light portions having a discrepancy in luminance values are determined to be ghosts. Consequently, positions where ghosts occur are detected accurately and in real time.
