PURPOSE: An outdoor parking-lot occupancy detection unit with an earth magnetic sensor is provided to have adaptability to the characteristics of a parking section by selecting a proper vehicle detecting sensor. CONSTITUTION: A sensor unit(100) measures terrestrial magnetism intensity. A controller(110) set fundamental terrestrial magnetism and filters environment terrestrial magnetism information. The controller compares the filtered variation with a threshold value and determines the existence of the vehicle in a specific section. A communications unit(120) transmits and receives information between a network and the controller. A power supply unit(140) supplies power.
