PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting crack of a railway sleeper is provided to accurately detect the crack of a railway sleeper by comparing/analyzing sound waveform by vibration and strike waveform by a striking unit.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for detecting crack of a railway sleeper comprises an image taking unit(120), a striking unit(140), a driving unit(130), a sound obtaining unit(150), and a crack analyzing unit(113). The image taking unit takes the image of a railway sleeper to be measured. The striking unit generates vibration by striking the given part of the railway sleeper according to the taken image. The driving unit drives the striking unit so that the striking unit can strike the railway sleeper. The sound obtaining unit obtains sound waveform due to the vibration of the railway sleeper and striking waveform generated by striking. The crack analyzing unit compares and analyzes a predetermined waveform, an obtained striking waveform and a sound waveform.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
