PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing the nano powder of a germanium telluride(GeTe)-thermoelectric material based on a rapid solidifying process is provided to uniform the particle size of nano-scale amorphous powder of the thermoelectric material by rapidly solidifying dissolved raw materials and pulverizing the solidified materials.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing the nano powder of a GeTe-thermoelectric material includes the following: Germanium and telluride are measured based on a composition ratio and are introduced into a quartz tube under an inert atmosphere. The quartz tube is installed in the vacuum chamber of a rapid solidifying unit containing a high speed rotating wheel. The vacuum chamber is exhausted, and inert gas is supplied to the vacuum chamber in order to control the vacuum chamber based on a constant pressure. The high speed rotating wheel of the rapid solidifying unit rotates. The materials introduced into the quartz tube are prepared in a liquid state through a high frequency induction melting operation. The melted materials are sprayed and rapidly solidified. The solidified materials are pulverized.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
