PURPOSE: An apparatus for monitoring the operation of a cooling fan for a transformer and a method thereof are provided to check the operational state of a cooling fan by monitoring the operation of the cooling fan at remote place.;CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for monitoring the operation of a cooling fan for transformer and a method thereof, a power consumption detection unit(23) confirms the power consumption of the cooling fan. A phase current data confirmation part(24) confirms second power phase current data of a commercial transformer. . A data analysis unit(25) detects the data receiving pattern of power consumption data and phase current data. A data pattern comparison unit(26) compares the data reception pattern of power consumption data with the phase current data.
