The method involves calculating three dimensional (3D)-surface triangulations from object 3D-movement invariants in a co-ordination system (K2) for corners (1) of a 3D-triangle (2) to describe position of corners of the 3D-surface triangulations within a defined local region of each triangle corner. The 3D-movement invariants are compared with the 3D-surface triangulation in a pair-wise. The 3D-movement invariants associated with corresponding triangulations are selected. Similarity transformations of the triangulations are determined based on the selected 3D-movement invariants.
