The system has a guideway (12) extending within a roof-sided area of multi-story houses (3) for a housing-like transport container, which is longitudinally movable on the guideway over a lifting device. The transport container is adjustably supported over the lifting device in a vertical direction. The guideway is supported at an edge side to an inner courtyard (2) in a roof-near area of the houses. The guideway extends in sections transverse over the inner courtyard. The guideway is formed as a track and as a support cable arrangement.
