The method involves evaluating the confidential status for the certificate of a certificate owner (3), particularly the third party information (21), which is consulted by the certificate owner. The third party information of the third party (5,17,19) is directly conveyed by a digital connection, particularly through Internetconnection to the certification body (11). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a digital certification body for display, examination and distribution of digital certificates for use in public key infrastructure; and (2) an arrangement for a digital certification body.
